Woods Street Party: An Apology

Hi friends.

To everyone that came to check us out at The Woods Street Party on Saturday, thanks a million, it was awesome to see you again.

Please accept our humblest apology for the unprofessional show.

Believe us when we say that we do our very best to put on the best show possible every time we play. So it really breaks our little hearts when we are told that the schedule is running two and half hours late, and that we're not going to get a soundcheck, and that the band before us is playing an hour and a half long set, and that the sound guys are running the power cables straight through the 1000+ crowd, and that we've got to cut our set down to 25 minutes when we had planned to play a bunch of brand new songs.

So again, we're sorry. And we'll make up for it soon. We promise. How does a new EP sound? Soon, my pretties, soon.

In the meantime, here's a video of Adrian Levi to cheer you up.

So as some of you may know, this French label called Tigersushi is releasing the Kiss You On The Cheek single. They sure are, and the vinyl was released this month along with the insanely awesome King Of Town remix and people all over the world are loving it.

Phonica Record Store in London said this about the record:

"Hands down Desmond & The Tutus is the best band name I've heard in ages and, happily, this single 'Kiss You On The Cheek' is deserving of such a wonderfully monikered creator. It's unashamedly cheesy, sunshiny electronic house indie pop gear - with harmonicas and everything..."

Hate Mail! Yeah!

Last week I received some hate mail. I know what you're thinking, "That's awesome! You know you're hitting the big time when you're getting hate mail!" Ja, it wasn't that awesome. Please read on.

At 1:08am, Friday morning (presumably after waking up in a mixture of Strawberry Pops and his own vomit) he sent me this SMS:

u think ur SO innovative but frank black was/is WAY ahead of u - ur actuali sad!

Thanks for pointing out that the lead singer of the Pixies, one of the greatest bands of our or any time, was (and 'is' mind you) better than me. I hate to break it to you Pixies fan but the only thing Frank Black is innovative at doing these days is eating. No wonder the rest of the band hates him, they're all missing body parts thanks to him.

A little later, at 1:11am, he sent a little reiteration:

ie - if you didn't get it - ur lame & pathetic & SO last season - GET OVER IT! (& ESPECIALLY urself)

Cool, I think you made your point in the first SMS but thanks for clearing it up. Just to make sure that we're on the same page here, what you want me to understand is that I'm lame and pathetic AND so last season? That's quite a combo, I feel like I was just Fatality'd by the gay Scorpio in some retarded game of Mortal Kombat.

Anyway, after a lot of research and number tracing and serious CSI zooming into photo jolling I finally found out who the culprit is. It's this little guy in the photo below.

I'd Say Sorry If I Could Talk

Dear Jivers,

I am Shane's voicebox. And an aching, paining, phlegmy excuse for a voicebox am I.

So as much as I'd like to blame the cancelled shows on Doug being in the airforce, Craig locking himself in his room like a little beeyatch or Nic simply falling asleep and waking up three days later (not an exaggeration, this happens) - I cannot. It's all my fault. It's my fault we didn't play on Saturday and it's my fault we can't play on Wednesday.

But we'll make it up to you, I promise from the bottom of my grey, shrivelled little heart. So if you feel like you were let down by little old me in your hour of need, email me and we'll work out how I can make it up to you.
